Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining results of all monitoring activities and water sampling in a database.
• Preparing summary reports of results as required.
• Extensive travel throughout the Algoma district.

• Enrollment in the field of environmental health or health studies with preference given to students enrolled in an Environmental Public Health degree program.
• Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Customer service experience.
• Effectively communicate with APH staff and clients in a professional manner.
• Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Duties of this position require lifting (up to 20 pounds), with frequent standing and walking.
• Must be reliable and available to work the entire summer period from selected start date (requests for time off are considered when they do not conflict with program needs).
• Ability to work weekends occasionally as the need arises.
• Requires a valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence and use of a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to travel to various locations throughout Algoma to deliver services is a requirement.
• Advanced oral and written proficiency in English is essential. Proficiency in both official languages, as well as knowledge of additional languages relevant to our diverse communities, will be considered an asset.
• As a condition of employment, employees must meet immunization requirements in accordance with the APH Immunization policy.
• A current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) with satisfactory clearance is a condition of employment, at own expense.

Algoma Public Health believes in and is committed to promoting diversity in our workforce and ensuring accessible employment practices, in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
